Dr Cindy is a Clinical Psychologist based in Sydney CBD & Parramatta. She provides effective evidence-based treatment for adults presenting with:
anxiety disorders: excessive worry, panic attacks with/without agoraphobia, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety and shyness, & fear and phobias
mood related difficulties such as: feeling down, hopeless, lacking energy and motivation, withdrawing from friends and activities, & post natal depression
stress and adjustment issues
expatriate and relocation issues
body image issues, body dysmorphic disorder, (excluding anorexia, i.e. restricting food and purging)
low self-esteem and low confidence
perfectionism & procrastination
Contemporary research shows that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective psychological treatment for the most common psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, panic, and stress, just to name a few.
CBT has been evaluated in thousands of national and international research studies over decades to produce clinically significant improvements for a wide range of difficulties.
How will CBT help you? CBT equips you with strategies for coping in more effective and adaptive ways. The tools you will learn are all evidence based, meaning that scientific research has shown that the strategies are effective. CBT strategies can assist you to make meaningful changes, improve your mood and reduce anxiety.
The cost of treatment sessions are $170. If you have been referred through a mental health care plan by your GP then you are eligible for a medicare rebate which is $115.20 per session. Therefore, you are paying $54.80 for professional assistance. Bulk billing is not available. Accepted forms of payment are cash, cheque and EFTPOS, & major credit cards. All sessions are 55 mins in length.
You do not need a referral to make an apointment to see Dr Cindy, however, to receive a Medicare rebate, you will need to be referred by your GP or psychiatrist under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS item number 2710). You can ask your GP or psychiatrist to refer you to Dr Cindy Nour.
How many appointments does Medicare cover? Medicare covers twelve sessions per calendar year. After six sessions, you will be reviewed by your GP or psychiatrist, and if appropriate you may then be eligible for a further six psychological treatment sessions.

Health Fund Rebates: You may be rebated by your private health fund depending on your level of cover. Contact your fund for more information regarding rebates for psychological services. Medicare does not allow you can to claim both a medicare rebate and a heath fund rebate simultaneously. Dr Cindy is registered with all major health funds.
Making an appointment is easy:
Offices are located in Parramatta and Sydney CBD.
Day and Evening appointments (55 mins) are available.
Evening appointments (6pm - 7pm) are available in the Sydney CBD office.
The last appointment in the Parramatta office is 5pm - 6pm.
If you call whilst Dr Cindy is in session your call will be returned on the same day.
Clients are typically seen within 7 days from when they first call.
